POLITICS OR LOVE

image

Are they so different, politics and love?

Money and friends in nice houses and revenge.

Don’t they both make you cry when it’s done?

Both are about saying what you need to say in just the right way.

But they are different in one important way.

One will never do it, and one will always do it, for pay.

When money springs like a tiger, and the seducer is merely warm,

War and suffering funds the political gain,

But love will always steal the show. And doesn’t need protection from the reign.

“One will never do it, and one will always do it, for pay.”

Sounds like the classic married man’s dilemma!

Either way, you have to admit that 2016 has been very weird.

It doesn’t matter if you’re Republican or Democrat, liberal or conservative, black, white, brown or yellow if there’s NO DAMN PLANET LEFT!

Around 25 years from now (I probably won’t be around to see it) this will be regarded as an “energizing event” — media outlets will be interviewing the new Democratic Senate Majority Leader, who will be a female Muslim, and she will say the event that propelled her into a political career was the election of Donald Trump in 2016.

And speaking of media outlets: when politics (especially the 2+ years of televised debates) is run like a reality show, is it any surprise when a reality show star dominates the process?

Take heart, Gary: Nixon won 49 states in 1972 and was gone less than two years later….

I am no fan of Hillary Clinton and would never vote for her. But what makes you think that humans will even be around in 25 years? Every problem we have: social, economic, environmental, political, has the same cause – OVERPOPULATION. But nobody, I mean nobody will even address this.

When my grandmother was born, there were about 1 billion people on Earth. It took about a million years to get there. When I was born, about 60 years later, there were 2 billion. Now, in my lifetime, about 60 years, we are closing in on 8 billion. Get the picture?

You didn’t hear about that in any debate!

    Not sure if it’s trustable
    (It’s census.gov—
    Some facts they hate
    And some facts they love)—
    Nonetheless perturbing & disturbing:

    Population

The sea came right up the mountain that day.
First we ran from the beaches, inland,
ran up the hills toward the mountain.
    The sea followed.
We ran farther, as fast as we could.
It followed with an awful sound.
We ran up onto the mountain
but the sea came after us anyway.
    Nowhere left to go now.
    We drowned.

And now for something completely different.

    Phyllis riding Aristotle!
Better for me than hitting the bottle.
And though my liver may not crack,
Needs must be careful of me back:
