TURTLE

This turtle is someone’s pet.

They put wheels under him and put him on the internet.

This poem will be sentimental, I bet.

He’s small. He stretches out his neck,

looking up at the cat, indifferent to him.

The race car turtle follows the cat.

The turtle is in love. Keith Richards

moved in with Brian Jones,

wore the same fashionable clothes

and, in the end, stole his girlfriend.

Brian Jones became increasingly passive.

The touring industry became massive.

The world is for the taking. Imitate and learn,

videotape the turtle, steal songs, burn.
